INVITATION FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

The Government of Kiribati (GOK) through the Ministry of Environment, Lands and Agricultural Development (MELAD) has received financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) for the Small Islands Food and Water Project (SIFaP). The SIFWaP is a multi-country project covering FSM, RMI, Tuvalu, and Kiribati with an estimated total budget of USD 19.29 million. The main objective of the project is to strengthen household resilience by enhancing food, nutrition, water security, and livelihood opportunities in Small Islands communities of Kiribati.

Community Outreach Officer (COO)

Terms of References_ Community Outreach Officer (COO)

 The COO will have operational responsibilities for implementing Component 1 of SIFWaP at the country, island, and community levels. S/he will be based at the NDU and will travel to the SIFWaP target communities/Islands as required. The COO will report to the NTM and perform all daily management tasks of Project Component 1 activities, including human resources management and planning, communication, and reporting supervision. S/he will be responsible for ensuring that SIFWAP’s targeting mechanisms are effectively implemented and monitored regarding the inclusion of vulnerable groups including women, youth, and PWDs.

Investment Supervisor (IS)

Terms of References Investment Supervisor (IS)

The IS will have operational responsibilities for implementing Component 2 of SIFWaP at national, island, and community levels. He/she will be based in the NDU and will travel to the target communities as required. The IS will report to the NTM and will perform all daily management tasks, including human resources management, management of the implementation of the Project Component 2 activities, and supervision of planning, communication, and reporting.

The Environment and Conservation Division (ECD) forms part of the Kiribati Government’s Ministry of Environment, Lands and Agricultural Development. Its mandate is to safeguard the natural environment upon which life depends and to protect human health.

We are managing the use and development (in both urban and rural settings) of land resources. Land resources are used for a variety of purposes which may include organic agriculture, water resource management and eco-tourism projects

Increasing domestic production through improved support services and promotion of sustainable agriculture in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders and development partners with the ultimate goal of improving the well being of te I-Kiribati
